How to become a member?
The Association of Science
Special Education Teachers (ASSET) is looking
for science teachers who are looking into networking
with other K-12 science teachers in view of sharing
their own experience teaching special needs students and
their own knowledge with members of this community.
We are also looking for opportunities to share
resources and ingenuity locally. Here are ways you can
contribute:
- If you found a low-cost or innovative way of
doing an experiment or build a piece of equipment,
let us know and we will add it to our lesson plan
and resources area (under construction).
- If you have the perfect lesson plan for a
specific class activity that especially worked great
with special needs students or a specific kind of
special needs students, let us know and we will add
it to either our lesson plan and resources area.
- If you know how to enhance the scientific
learning of a specific kind of special needs
students, consider sharing this with us in a
powerpoint, PDF or video so we can add it to our
professional development area.
- Tell us how we can improve our networking
community to make it more relevant to your teaching
needs. Send us an email.
At this time, membership is free. As we grow, we may
have to ask our community members to pay a reasonable yearly
fee in the future to maintain this site and offerings.
As we are a non-for-profit organization, excess funds,
if they exist, will be returned to our members in the
form of grants.
